Jharkhand assembly on Friday showered accolades on ‘Little Master’ Sachin Tendulkar on his glorious feat of scoring a century of centuries in international cricket.
Â
Amidst thumping of desks, the house passed the resolution congratulating the cricketer.
Â
“The house congratulates Sachin Tendulkar for his stupendous feat”, Speaker C P Singh said and wished the 39-year-old batting legend to accomplish more feats on cricketing field.
Â
Tendulkar got his 100th international ton in Dhaka on Friday, against Bangladesh.
Â
Tendulkar, en-route to his much awaited milestone, also scored his first ODI ton against Bangladesh during Indiaâs Asia Cup tie at Dhaka on Friday.
Â
Tendulkar scored 114 off 147 balls which included 12 boundaries and six.
Â
The master blaster, who already has a pile of runs and records to his credit, achieved the incredible milestone when he turned spinner Shakib-ul Hasan towards fine-leg.
Â
The star batsman first looked heavenwards and then acknowledged the cheers of his teammates and the crowd by lifting his bat.
Â
It was the end of a long wait for the 38-year-old veteran, who had gone 33 innings and a year without a century. The right-hander made his 99th international ton in a World Cup match against South Africa in Nagpur on March 12.
Â
Since then it had been an agonising wait for the maestro, whose every inning was watched with anticipation. He came close on quite a few occasion only to miss the milestone so much so that it became a huge monkey on his back and an unwanted distraction during every series that India played. (PTI)
