In a nail-biting clash, Joburg Super Kings defeated Durban Super Giants in the first-ever Super Over finish in SA20 history, moving to the top of the points table with 13 points from three wins.

The match ended in a tie at 205 runs each, before Joburg clinched victory in the Super Over thanks to heroics from Donovan Ferreira and Richard Gleeson.

Super Over drama decides historic match

With the main game tied, Durban needed six runs to win the Super Over. Rilee Rossouw smashed two quick fours off Noor Ahmed, helping Joburg reach the target with two balls to spare.

Earlier, Ferreira run out Eathan Bosch on the final ball of Durban’s innings when the scores were level, forcing the first tie in SA20 history. Gleeson bowled brilliantly, conceding only five runs and taking one wicket in the Super Over to seal the win.
