Joe Root has joined the club of becoming the 4th youngest player to score 4,000 runs in Test cricket. Root has scored 4,000 runs for England, since his debut (Dec 2012). No other player has scored as many runs as Root has scored since his debut. Root achieved this feat against Pakistan in the fourth Test at The Oval.  He is the youngest to reach 4,000 Test runs  after Sachin Tendulkar 24 years, 224 days, Alastair Cook 25 years and 79 days, Kane Williamson 25 years and 199 days J Root 25 years and 227 days. England were 88 for four in their second innings, a deficit of 126 runs, at stumps on the third day of the fourth Test against Pakistan at The Oval on Saturday.  England are leading the 4 match Test series by 2-1, but Day 3 has put Pakistan in command given a wonderful spell by Yasir Shah. Just when it looked like England were finally getting some partnership going, Yasir Shah came in and got rid of Alex Hales and James Vince in a matter of 9 balls. Yasir as getting good assist from the pitch as his balls spun quite exceptionally. Yasir also got close to getting rid of Gary Ballance but his 2.5 meters stride from the stumps saved him. In between all this Joe Root who looked very confident in his batting was removed by Yasir Shah again as he tried to defend a full and flighted delivery.
