Spinner Jomel Warrican has been included in the West Indies squad for the three-match Test series against Pakistan in the UAE. Warrican was not included for the home Test series against India and is the only addition to the squad from that series, according to espncricinfo.com. Team will be led once again  by Jason Holder, who will hope that West Indies put up a better show in this series. West Indies will play the Test series against Pakistan after the T20I and the One-Day International (ODI) series. The first Test will begin on October 17 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Misbah-ul-Haq-led Pakistan, who had recently claimed the No. 1 ranking in Tests will look to continue their good run of form against West Indies as well.

West Indies and Pakistan are currently engaged in a T20I series, in which Pakistan have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead, with one more match to play. With Pakistan having three different captains for different formats, Misbah and few other regulars in the Test squad will be more or less fresh going into the series. West Indies last played India in a four-match Test series at the Caribbean. They were handed a 2-0 loss in the series, but bounced back to win the T20I series in the USA. Pakistan on the other hand were part of a competitive Test series in England, which ended 2-2 eventually. Misbah recently received the ICC Test championship mace from ICC CEO Dave Richardson at Daggafi Stadium in Lahore. This is the first time Pakistan have reached the summit of the Test championship since ICC rankings were introduced.
