Rhodes made his debut for South Africa against Australia in the Benson & Hedges World Cup in 1992. It was in this tournament Rhodes displayed an acrobatic run-out to dismiss Inzamam-ul-Haq of Pakistan. That was one iconic moment of his career. He gave up his international career after the 2003 World Cup. Rhodes remains a favourite candidate for stints as fielding coach. He has been a consultant/fielding coach for Pakistan, Kenya, South Africa and Mumbai Indians.
