JP Duminy becomes 2nd batsman to complete 1,500 T20I runs

JP Duminy became the second batsman in Twenty20 International (T20I) to complete 1,000 career runs during the second match of the T20I series between India and South Africa at the Baramati Stadium in Cuttack on Monday. Duminy crossed the milestone when he scored two runs, as South Africa were cruising towards the modest 93-run target after their bowlers annihilated the Indian batting lineup with attacking bowling and sharp fielding. Duminy brought up the milestone in the penultimate ball of the seventh over, with South Africa reaching score of 43 for two at the end of the over. Duminy brings up the milestone in his 63rd appearance, recording an average of 37.62 so far with as many as eight half-centuries, including a highest score of 96 not out. New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum is the only other batsman to cross the milestone, boasting of a tally of 2,140 runs in 71 matches.
