Karnataka beat TN to retain top spot in P S Ram Mohan Trophy

Karnataka kept their slate clean by defeating Tamil Nadu by two wickets in the under-25 South Zone limited over cricket match for the P S Ram Mohan Trophy on Sunday.
Replying to Tamil Nadu’s 311 all out in 49.4 overs, Karnataka made 312 for eight in 48.5 overs with in-form Mayank Agarwal scoring a fine 58 (42b, 10×4) and Anirudh Joshi top scoring with 95 (78b, 5×4, 3×6).
Karnakata continue to lead the points table with 14 points, followed by Kerala (8), Hyderabad (7), Goa and Andhra four each and Tamil Nadu, minus one.
R Rohit’s knock of 108 (111b, 9×4, 2×6) and Vijay Shankar?s 126 (110b, 6×4, 2×6) for Tamil Nadu went in vain as the hosts’ bowlers failed to arrest the run rate though Martin Sanjeev claimed four for 53.
Apart from Mayank and Anirudh Joshi, Karnataka was helped by Karun Nair (29) and K C Avinash (41), who added 113 runs in 109 balls for the sixth wicket with Anirudh Joshi.
In the other matches, Kerala won by five wickets against Andhra, while Hyderabad scored a 12 run win over Goa. (PTI)
