Kenya captain Jimmy Kamande won the toss and chose to bat first against Sri Lanka in their World Cup Group A match at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Both Sri Lanka and Kenya lost their last league matches to Pakistan. Sri Lanka fell short by 11 runs chasing a target of 277, while Kenya was routed by 205 runs on Feb 23.
Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga is making a comeback in the team after recovering from a back-strain.
