England batsman Kevin Pietersen on Saturday said, he has cracked his problems in one-day international cricket – but refrained from revealing the solution.

“I know exactly why, but I’m not telling you. I hope my bad one-day form is behind me. Mentally I am at a place where I want to rectify it.

“It probably won’t happen in the first game, or the warm-up games – but come international time, I’m raring to go,” the 31-year-old said.

The former England skipper believes he owes it to current captain Alastair Cook to make it his business to stay in the frame at least until after the next World Cup.

“I’m a proud person; I’m proud of my career; I’m proud of my averages,” he said.

“I want to try to maintain and improve on the average in one-day cricket.”
