Rated as one of the future stars, Asif’s promising career hit a roadblock when he got involved in spot-fixing in 2010 along with Mohammed Aamir and Salman Butt.
He was handed with a five-year band and one-year imprisonment for his infamous act in the Test against England. He made his international debut back in 2005 and till 2010, he dismissed twice in Tests and ODIs and once in T20Is.
During his illustrious career, Pietersen faced some finest bowlers of all time like Brett Lee, Shane Warne, Zaheer Khan, Glenn McGrath and many more hence it may have come as a surprise for fans to see him pick the Pakistani pacer.
Meanwhile, the ICC has put all cricketing action on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
