Kevin Pietersen put on hold an offer by Cricket Australia (CA) to play for the Big Bash champions Sydney Sixers in an attempt to repair his relationship with the England team management still taking time.

Pietersen was ignored from the England team for the T20 World Cup, despite being a T20 player of repute after he fell out of favour with the ECB for sending controversial text messages to South African players in which he criticised England captain Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower.

The former England captain was player of the tournament at the last edition of ICC World Twenty20 tournament held in West Indies in 2010.

If Pietersen is overlooked for the tour of India during the Australian summer, the England middle-order batsman may likely end up playing in the Big Bash.

According to reports in News.com.au, he may also miss the back-to-back Ashes series in England.
