Kevin Pietersen retires from limited overs cricket

England star batsman Kevin Pietersen has announced retirement from all international limited overs cricket.
Pietersen has been a key component of the England batting and would have been crucial to team’s chances in the upcoming T20 World Cup in September in Sri Lanka.
The South African-born batsman played 127 One-Day Internationals and 36 T20s for England.
Pietersen is known for his feisty batting and aggressive approach against fast bowlers.
Announcing his retirement, the batsman said he could not cope with the growing demands of the limited overs format.
He was quoted by First Post, ” (I) could not cope with the intensity of the int limited overs cricket format. Will continue to play tests for England.
” It is time to step aside and make way for a new generation of players”
