Lying at the bottom of the points table with three victories, Victorians restricted Titans to a modest score before chasing down the target in the death overs. With this win, Victorians earn 8 points while Titans remain stagnant at 12 with 6 wins. With back-to-back defeats, Titans will be facing a daunting task to regain momentum in a crunch phase of the group stages. READ: BPL 2016: Sabbir Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain fined for hosting female guests in hotel room

Winning the toss, Victorians' skipper Mashrafe Mortaza opted to bowl. Titans came out eyeing a challenging score of anything in excess of 160-170 but fell short of Victorians' disciplined bowling effort. Mortaza was the stand out performer with the ball with three scalps while Mohammad Sharif and Mohammad Saifuddin grabbed a wicket apiece. Once again, Titans' batsmen got going with starts but no one played a blinder or held the innings on his own. Mahmudullah was the top-scorer with 40 off 38 balls and also remained unbeaten.

Riki Wessels could not do much as he departed for 4 while Hasanuzzaman, Abdul Mazid, Nicholas Pooran and Suvagata Hom got starts but perished soon. Titans managed a modest score of 141 for 6 and must have depended on their quality death bowling to bail them out but that was not the case today.

In reply, Victorians lost Ahmed Shahzad early in the chase. Shahzad could not even open his account. Nonetheless, left-hander Imrul Kayes got a start of 20 before Marlon Samuels and Liton Das ensured them an easy win in the end. Samuels stood his end with a valiant fifty and played throughout the innings. Mortaza also played a cameo of 20 off 11 balls. The skipper's innings composed of three maximums which gave his side a good platform from where they could press hard for a win.

Titans' bowlers kept the match alive for long with everyone chipping in with scalps except Shafiul Islam. His off day in the field along with Titans being 15-20 runs short, could not prevent their side from losing. The game ended in 18.4 overs as Samuels smacked the winning runs off Junaid Khan.

Brief scores:

Khulna Titans 141 for 6 in 20 overs (Hasanuzzaman 29, Mahmudullah 40*; Mashrafe Mortaza 3 for 16) lost to Comilla Victorians 141 for 5 in 18.4 overs (Imrul Kayes 20, Marlon Samuels 69*, Liton Das 24*; Benny Howell 2 for 29) by 5 wickets.
