Kings XI Punjab have completed an unbeaten streak in the group phase of the Champions League T20 (CLT20) 2014. They beat Cape Cobras at Mohali by seven wickets. With this, they have finished their group with four victories and would go into the semi-finals. Cape Cobras were eliminated earlier in the day when Hobart Hurricanes beat Barbados Tridents.

George Bailey won the toss and chose to bowl first. Hashim Amla started off brilliantly and he smashed it around. He made room a few times played down the ground, but then he had also hit Thisara Perera for five fours in an over. In the first five overs, they had gone to 58 for no loss.

However, the wheels started coming off then. Karanveer Singh had Amla caught for 40 and then the rest of the batting failed to dominate. Akshar Patel also bowled a good spell of three for 15. Karanveer finished with one for 23. Richard Levi scored 42 but could never get going and once he was dismissed, Cobras were tottering. Anureet Singh also finished with good figures of three for 12.

In reply, Manan Vohra and Virender Sehwag started well and batted quite freely. However, after a 41-run stand, Vohra holed out to the deep. Sehwag continued and though he survived a close shout for stumping, he continued. He was dismissed for 23. Glenn Maxwell came and smashed a few around before he was bowled, but by then Punjab were on course. Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller finished it quite easily.
