Kings XI Punjab lost the early wicket of Cheteshwar Pujara in their Indian Premier League (IPL), 2014 contest against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. In three overs, they are 15 for one with Virender Sehwag and Wriddhiman Saha in the centre. Pujara was run-out for eight in the second over of the contest.

Pujara started things off with a beautiful cover drive for a four off Umesh Yadav in the first over. He then placed one behind square for a couple. In the second over, there was a scare for Pujara as a rising delivery from Morne Morkel took his glove and ballooned to the wicketkeeper. However, it wasn’t out as it was a no-ball and Pujara got a free-hit, which he hit straight to the fielder. Later, they got Pujara out when he was run-out when Sehwag pushed him for a tough single.

Morkel seemed to be in good form as he welcomed Saha with a couple of bouncers. There is some grass on the surface and that would help Morkel. In the third over, Sehwag smashed Umesh Yadav over cover for four. It nearly went for six as it bounced just before the ropes.  Earlier, Gautam Gambhir had won the toss and had elected to bowl first on a surface that saw the Rajasthan Royals bowling Royal Challengers Bangalore out for 70 earlier in the day. Chasing under lights at Abu Dhabi hasn’t been proved easy.
