The Barbados Tridents lost their first wicket in their opening encounter of the tournament against Kings XI Punjab in the fifth match of the ongoing Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) 2014 being held at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on Saturday. Wicket-keeper batsman William Perkins was trapped leg-before off the bowling Parvinder Awana as the Tridents reached a score of 54 for the loss of one wicket after 5.1 overs.

The Tridents were placed at a commanding position of 54 runs off a mere five overs at a scoring-rate of over 10 per over. The opening duo of William Perkins and Dilshan Munaweera took their side off to a flying start. Awana had already conceded 24 runs off two overs when he struck first blood as he trapped Perkins in a delivery that was heading towards the middle-stump.
