Kings XI Punjab had suffered a killer blow after losing ‘killer’ David Miller after Piyush Chawla’s leg-spinners turned in and deceived the the batsmen and he was bowled all ends up and Kings XI Punjab were left with a mountain to climb and the slow nature of the pitch meant that the batsmen were not able to get runs easily. Skipper George Bailey in  particular was enduring a difficult stay at the crease. then Punjab suffered yet another breakthrough with Piyush Chawla’s accurate throw found Akshar Patel short of the crease.

 

Earlier, Morne Morkel bowled the sixth over of the innings. Manan Vohra hit a six off the second ball to jump to 26. However, off the fifth delivery, Manan top-edged one to Umesh Yadav, to boost the par score to 49 after six overs. KXIP were left at 46 for two at the end of that over.Shakib-al-Hasan came on to bowl the fifth over with the par score at 37 at the end of that over. Manan Vohra lit up KXIP’s hopes by hitting the first two balls for sixes and then taking a single to take KXIP to 37. They finished the over on 39 for one at the end of five overs to be safe in terms of Duckworth-Lewis at the end of five overs.

 

Sunil Narine bowled the next over. And started off with a couple of dot balls. There was a slight drizzle and the covers were threatening to come on. The par score at the end of five overs was 37 runs. KXIP were struggling to get there, but Saha managed to get a boundary off the final ball.
