Kolkata Knight Riders have started their run-chase against Sunrisers Hyderabad well in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Kolkata are chasing 161 to win and are 20 for no loss in three overs with Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir in the centre. Kolkata have to chase it in 15.2 overs to move to the second spot in the IPL 2014 Points Table.

The first over of the innings was bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and he bowled it very well. He was getting movement and had foxed Gautam Gambhir with a few away going deliveries. Only two runs were possible. Dale Steyn came onto bowl the second over and while trying a cover  drive, Gambhir inside-edged it and it went past his stumps for four.

Bhuvneshwar came on in the third over and then Gambhir charged at him and smashed him over mid-off for a four. Uthappa then worked it through the gap at mid-wicket for a four. He then flicked another past mid-on for a four.

Earlier, Kolkata captain Gautam Gambhir won the toss and chose to bowl first. Kolkata made no changes to the side but Hyderabad brought in Jason Holder and Srikkanth Aniruddha. In a stop start affair, Hyderabad managed to score 160 for seven.
