India ransacked South Africa in the second ODI by a margin of 7 wickets to gain a 2-0 lead in the six ODI series. So far, South Africa have been taken to the cleaners by the spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, picking 13 wickets. Virat Kohli, in the post-match presentation, praised his spinners for their performance in the Centurion ODI.

He said: “We knew we won’t get grass on the pitch because when it’s seaming, it can be anyone’s game. We knew the wickets would be hard and dry and knew our wrist-spinners can get it to turn anywhere.”

He also complimented other bowlers at display at Centurion. He said: “Bhuvi and Bumrah started really well. We didn’t let SA get too much up front. Spinners were outstanding again. To win like this obviously feels very good. What we thought in the morning, we did all those things right.”

He spoke in great lengths about India’s strategy as well.

Kohli said: “We back guys to play positive cricket. Small totals, it’s always important to start positive. It’s a wonderful position to be in. We know their middle-order is inexperienced, and we look to cash in on that. The way our spinners are bowling, we are confident about continuing the same momentum.”
