Kumar Sangakkara becomes 4th batsman to score 12,000 ODI runs

Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara has become the fourth batsman to score 12,000 One-Day International (ODI) runs. He achieved the milestone during the second ODI against Pakistan at Dubai. He joins the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and fellow Sri Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya in the elite club.

Sangakkara had reached 11,000 runs in March this year during an ODI against Bangladesh. To move from 11,000 to 12,000, it has taken him only 18 innings. Here is a list of the batsmen who have scored 12,000 ODI runs and the number of innings taken by them to reach the milestone:
