Lalit Modi releases documents on proposed Arab Sports League

Lalit Modi has released documents on Arab Sports League, minutes of meeting with Arabian Cricket World Series promoters, etc. through his twitter account.

Earlier, Modi claimed on his official Twitter account, @LalitKModi that current IPL chief Rajiv Shukla was planning to start a Twenty20 league in the United Arab Emirates.

The document released reveals that Arab Sports Management (ASM) is desirous of organizing T20 cricket tournament(s) under the name and style of ARABIAN WORLSD SERIES ” AWS” on the format of Indian Premier League in the Middle East Region comprising of GCC countries.

ASM is a consortium of — companies all formed for the purposes of promotion of sports/ cricket in internationally.

Shukla, meanwhile refuted all the allegations as “rubbish” in a text message to Hindustan Times.

While no one from the BCCI was willing to go on record, an insider said Shukla was spotted “introducing the event manager” to top ICC and BCCI officials during the 2011 World Cup. Another said that “didn’t mean he (Shukla) was involved” in organising the League.
