Former South Africa all-rounder Lance Klusener has recently expressed that he feels privileged to have coached Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Klusener, who was the batting coach of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians, had coached Tendulkar and praised the legendary player for his achievements. Describing him as a special player, Klusener went on to say that coaching Tendulkar has to be among the career highs. Klusener, regarded as one of the finest all-rounders ever produced, served as the Mumbai Indians’ batting coach for three years and had this opportunity to coach Tendulkar during this tenure. As reported by Sportskeeda, Klusener said, “Special players never stop learning. After going out to bat at the start of a session, Sachin would dig deep right till the end. We always tend to forget that the very best in the business always work the hardest. It was a privilege to coach him. As a batsman you have to be innovative to survive in T20s. You just can’t block a bowler like Anil Kumble and think you can take on the others. It’s about believing in your abilities. The modern batsmen are powerful, fit and execute shots with great confidence.”

Talking about all-rounders, he said West Indies have many talented all-rounders at this point.

“Windies have some of the best in the world. All-rounders like Dwayne Bravo, Darren Sammy, Kieron Pollard and Carlos Braithwaite have done pretty well for the team and their World Twenty20 triumph was praiseworthy.”
