DD 128/7 in 20 overs, Morris 52*, Cummins 4*: With only 10 coming off final over, MI defend 142 versus DD and remain unbeaten against them at Wankhede since 2011. Morris did a fine job with the bat after his side was 25 for 6, but the writing was on the wall inside the first 6 overs.

DD started well with a disciplined bowling display but fell flat courtesy a pathetic batting performance by their top order. However, do not take anything away from MI’s bowlers who took early wickets in a small chase with smart variations and pace. McClenaghan started DD’s downfall and was ably supported by Harbhajan, Bumrah and Hardik. They applied the brakes on crucial moments even when Rabada-Morris were going well and pulled things back to post a 14-run win over DD. With this win, MI remain on top and make it 6 victories in a row. DD have lots to ponder upon to regain the winning momentum. Overall, a great match with bowlers and fielders stepping up. Batting looked scratchy but Rahul Dravid would not be happy with his top order. Well, that’s it from this match and do join us for tomorrow’s double-header. Goodnight!

DD 118/7 in 19 overs, Morris 45*, Cummins 3*: Bumrah almost seals the deal for MI. Requiring 30 off 12 balls, he kept it on the money with some immaculate off spin and slower yorkers to dismantle Rabada’s stumps. 25 needed in 6 balls. Morris will have to pull off a miracle to beat MI tonight.
  • 11:37 PM IST
DD 113/6 in 18 overs, Rabada 43*, Morris 44*: McClenaghan finishes off his spell with three wickets. He went for 12 runs as the equation reads 30 needed in 2 overs. Rabada has gone out of sorts for sometime, but Morris’ lucky four over Parthiv’s head followed by a well timed six keeps them alive. Morris missed out on a few bouncers but hung back on his crease to smash a huge six off on an anticipated short ball towards deep mid wicket. Still looking tough for DD.

DD 101/6 in 17 overs, Rabada 42*, Morris 33*: Runs have dried up since the 15th over. Just when someone had to press the accelerator for DD, MI bowlers pulling it back with some brilliant full length deliveries backed by well executed slowers and wide yorkers. Bumrah gives away only 4 as the required run-rate goes upto 14.
  • 11:26 PM IST
DD 97/6 in 16 overs, Rabada 40*, Morris 31*: McClenaghan bowls an excellent over conceding only 6 runs. He mixed up his length and took the pace off wisely. Over to Bumrah, from the other end, with 46 to defend off 24 balls. I can sense something happening in the next few overs.
  • 11:21 PM IST
DD 91/6 in 15 overs, Rabada 38*, Morris 28*: 8 coming off Krunal’s first over as this match is nicely set now. What a brilliant recovery from DD. They still have the likes of Pat Cummins and Amit Mishra who can stick around but will like this pair to be around till the 18th over at least. 52 needed off 30 balls. Who will accelerate and who will anchor the innings for DD? Let’s find out in the next few overs…
  • 11:17 PM IST
DD 83/6 in 14 overs, Rabada 36*, Morris 22*: Rabada-Morris are looking to bat deep in the innings and rescue their side. Will be a big relief for them if they get past the finish line here at Wankhede. Meanwhile, Harbhajan finishes off his spell giving away only 5 in the 14th over. Krunal Pandya finally is ready to bowl his first over from the other end.
  • 11:11 PM IST
DD 78/6 in 13 overs, Rabada 33*, Morris 20*: Morris-Rabada have added 50+ partnership for the seventh wicket and kept DD in the chase. Morris, with his heavy backlift, is generating enough pace on the ball with the bat and striking some beautiful shots. He has not looked uncomfortable during his stay so far. Meanwhile, Rabada hanging in there as well. Mitchell Johson has completed his spell which means Rohit is eyeing on Bumrah and McClenaghan for the death overs.
  • 11:05 PM IST
DD 69/6 in 12 overs, Rabada 32*, Morris 13*: Brilliant bowling from Bhajji. He concedes only 2 off the 12th over as the required run-rate goes slightly up. He did not offer much width and kept a simple line outside off. Rabada tried the reverse sweep twice but missed it on both occasions. Morris will have to calm him down.
  • 11:02 PM IST
DD 67/6 in 11 overs, Rabada 31*, Morris 12*: Morris-Rabada showing the likes of Nair and Iyer how it is done in a modest chase. They are making full use of the small grounds and keeping with the required run-rate with some calculative shots and singles. Nothing more required in such a chase. Rabada is growing in confidence with every shot and if Morris can stay till the 15th over, he will be deadly. 76 needed off 54 balls.
  • 10:57 PM IST

  • 10:50 PM IST
DD 44/6 in 9 overs, Rabada 15*, Morris 5*: Another impressive over from Hardik Pandya. DD will have to find some way of getting runs here if they want to remain in the match. Nonetheless, the writing seems to be evident on the wall with a flurry of wickets at the top. Rabada-Morris fighting it hard for them. 99 required off 66 balls.
  • 10:46 PM IST
DD 34/6 in 8 overs, Rabada 8*, Morris 3*: Harbhajan Singh comes into the attack and gives away only 6 off his first over. Rabada edged one towards first slip but it went hard and over Rohit, standing there, to get some lucky runs for his side. 109 required off 12 overs.
  • 10:44 PM IST
DD 28/6 in 7 overs, Rabada 3*, Morris 2*: Now Hardik Pandya joins the party as DD continue to falter. Nair choppes one onto his stumps as DD invite more trouble and suddenly this chase looks totally out of cards for the visitors. Can’t believe Dravid is witnessing such a pathetic batting display for his side.
  • 10:36 PM IST
DD 23/5 in 6 overs, Nair 5*, Rabada 1*: I am in no mood to over this match anymore. Nonetheless, will have to. What kind of batting is this? Pant surrenders to Bumrah by giving a simple catch to Harbhajan Singh at slips. Smart bit of captaincy from Rohit Sharma as well. This is a disheartening performance from DD after a terrific show from their bowlers. Half the side sitting in the dugout as Rabada joins Nair in the middle with Bumrah completing his first over.
  • 10:28 PM IST

  • 10:27 PM IST
DD 21/4 in 4 overs, Nair 5*: What on earth are DD doing in this paltry chase? Mitchell McClenaghan in firing on all cylinders as he gets rid of Iyer and Corey Anderson in the 4th over. He dismissed Iyer on a short and down leg side delivery wherein Iyer flicked instead of leaving the ball. Anderson came and lasted for only 3 balls as he was outdone by an inward delivery which missed his pads and struck the wickets. DD in deep deep trouble. Can Pant deliver on this vital clash for DD?
  • 10:20 PM IST
DD 19/2 in 3 overs, Iyer 6*, Nair 4*: Only five coming off Johnson’s over as DD start the repair work courtesy Iyer-Nair. Rahul Dravid’s mentored side have a task in hand to stage a comeback in this match. It is a good opportunity for the likes of Iyer, a proven customer in domestic circuit, and out-of-form Nair to get some runs under their belt and bail DD out of troubled waters. Let’s see how they stitch this innings together!
  • 10:15 PM IST
DD 14/2 in 2 overs, Iyer 4*, Nair 1*: Like I mentioned, DD are not the ideal side to chase. They are faltering here at Wankhede. Tare went for a poor single whereas Samson gave a simple catch to Rohit Sharma at mid off as McClenaghan struck in his first over. Shreyas Iyer and Karun Nair have all the time in the world to stitch a valuable partnership for their side. The total is not a big one, so they should get going.
  • 10:11 PM IST
DD 9/1 in 1 over, Samson 9*, Nair 0*: It’s all happening out there at Wankhede. Mitchell Johnson started the proceedings for MI and Hardik Pandya got rid of Aditya Tare with a sharp bit of fielding. Tare tapped and ran but waited for a split second which caused his debacle. You cannot take on one of best fielders of the camp for a quick single. Nonetheless, Samson smashed two lovely boundaries to get DD going.

  • 9:48 PM IST
MI 142/8 in 20 overs, Johnson 7*, McClenaghan 1*: Some brilliant bowling from DD have given them a paltry total of 143 to chase. Cummins and Morris were accurate with their yorkers, inswingers whereas Rabada and Zaheer impressed as well despite going for a few. Amit Mishra was the stand out performer for DD conceding under 20 runs. MI lost wickets at regular intervals and only starts from Pollard, Buttler and Pandya brothers got them to some sort of total. Will their bowlers defend this under-par total?

I really hope DD’s batsmen do not falter and chase it easily. Remember, with their bowling line-up, they are a polished side to defend totals rather than chasing. Having said that, their Indian domestic star players have contributed which has allowed Zaheer and co. to fill up some quality pacers in the bowling department.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates post of Match No. 25 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. I am Aditya Sahay and will bring you the live cricket scores and updates from this game. MI who are in red-hot form enter their seventh game of the tournament. Mumbai Indians received an early jolt against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS). Since then, the team has shown different form compared to the previous years by getting rid of the ‘slow-starters’ tag. With experienced as well as debutant players bringing ‘A’ game forward, Mumbai Indians are also on top of the IPL 2017 table battling it out with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Full Cricket Scorecard: Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Delhi Daredevils (DD), IPL 2017, Match 25 at Wankhede Stadium

With another win against DD, MI would want to strengthen their position. While skipper Rohit Sharma’s form has been unmoved, it has given opportunity to players like Nitish Rana, the Pandya brothers, Parthiv Patel and Jasprit Bumrah to carry forward their consistency. Amongst the international players Kieron Pollard and Jos Buttler have provided match-winning performances. However, their concern would be to restrict the flow of runs that their experienced bowlers, Mitchell McClenaghan and Lasith Malinga, who leaked against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the previous match. But with ratio reading 6-1 favouring MI, DD have task on hand.

DD, who started their campaign on a positive note, have shown no momentum barring a few players. Angelo Mathews’ inclusion has not bolstered DD in any department. Meanwhile, Karun Nair’s on and off performance have added further dilemma. However, players like Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant and Morris have stepped up in precarious conditions.

The fourth-placed DD will hope to end their two-match losing streak and reclaim their position at the top of the table.
