Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of Day 3 of the Group B game of the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy between Andhra and Uttar Pradesh, live from Ongole. Uttar Pradesh are looking down the barrel as play starts on Day Three, having lost 3 wickets with 88 more required to make Andhra bat again. The hosts, led by Mohammad Kaif (who led the visitors till a few years back), put up a spirited show, and are on the verge of a win and bag 6 points. If they do reasonably well, they may even win by an innings and get a crucial bonus point: a lot would depend on their seam bowlers. Complete coverage of Ranji Trophy 2015-16

Live cricket scores Andhra 26/1 | Target 182 | Overs 11 | Batting: K S Bharat 16(31), Kaif 0(23): At stumps of Day 3, Andhra required another 152 runs to defeat UP in the Round 4 of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2015-16 with nine wickets to spare and tomorrow being the final day. UP will want Ankit Rajpoot, who picked the lone wicket for UP in the second innings today, to once again strike early tomorrow. If a partnership is built by the Andhra side, with the likes of Bharat, Ricky Bui and other local players, a target of 182 should not be a big deal for them.

Live cricket scores Andhra 23/1 | Target 182 | Overs 6 | Batting: K S Bharat 13(15), Kaif 0(9): Vijay Kumar led Andhra’s bowling attack with his four-wicket haul as the hosts bundled up UP for 309. The visitors managed a lead of 182 in the second innings. From here, Andhra needs 160 runs to win with nine wickets in hand. UP’s Ankit Rajpoot struck in the fourth over, removing Andhra opener Prashanth Kumar cheaply for 12-ball 6. His innings constituted of one boundary. OUT! Prashanth Kumar c Akshdeep Nath b Ankit Rajpoot 6(12)

Andhra once again is in a dominating position and if their bowling attack that includes the likes of Siva Kumar, Vijay Kumar and the youngster Stephan, continue to be consistent, this game definitely is going in their favour. On Day 3, UP has lost another three wickets. Amit Mishra, Akshdeep Nath and Umang Sharma were last three dismissals made by Andhra.

Andhra started Day Two on 77 without loss. Srikar Bharat (67 in 96 balls, 11 fours) fell on 85, but the middle-order contributed well. Andhra went past Uttar Pradesh’s 170 for the loss of 2 wickets, and were looking good for a big lead with 63 in advance and 6 wickets in hand. Unfortunately, they lost their last 6 wickets for 54, and the lead was restricted to 117. Captain Praveen Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 86.

It did not matter, for Tanmay Srivastava, Almas Shaukat, and night-watchman Kuldeep Yadav were dismissed before stumps. Uttar Pradesh finished on 39 for 3.
