Bangladesh were at 380 for seven at stumps on Day Three of first Test trailing New Zealand by 89 runs. The home side’s innings featured a fluent century by Monimul Haque (181).

The 22-year-old anchored the innings to notch up his maiden Test century as the hosts, replying to New Zealand’s 469, cruised to 380 for seven by stumps at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium.

Captain Mushfiqur Rahim (67) added 92 for the fifth wicket with Mominul to lift Bangladesh to 301 for four, before both batsmen fell in the space of six deliveries after tea.

Corey Anderson had taken two wickets for 23 runs and Doug Bracwell had taken two wickets for 71 runs.
