New Zealand were 107 for three at tea on the second day of the second Test against Bangladesh at Dhaka on Tuesday. The umpires had called for an early tea after yet another rain intervention in the match. However, the rains showed no signs of stopping as the entire third session was washed out. The Kiwis will look to build on and go past Bangladesh’s first innings score of 282.

Ross Taylor and Kane Willimason were unbeaten on 37 and 28 respectively.

New Zealand lost both of their openers. Hamish Rutherford couldn’t manage much as he was dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan. In the last over before lunch was called Shakib removed Peter Fulton as well.

Brief scores:

Bangladesh 282 (Tamim Iqbal 95, Marshall Ayub 41, Mominul Haque 47; Neil Wagner 5 for 64, Ish Sodhi 3 for 59) lead New Zealand 107 for 3 (Kane Williamson 28*, Ross Taylor 27*; Shakib Al Hasan 3 for 25) by 175 runs.
