Man of the Match: Corey Anderson

  • 10:58 AM IST

Bangladesh 167/6 in overs 20, Nurul Hasan 7(8), Rubel Hossain 1(1): New ZEaland win by 27 runs! They end series 3-0 and Bangladesh’s poor run in the tour continues. They are left with the Tests now. The team has disappointed with their performance so far. In today’s match, Shakib and Sarkar with the bat and Rubel with the bat looked good.
New Zealand remained dominant as usual. Williamson and Anderson helped post the gigantic total while Boult and Sodhi were the most successful with the ball. Williamson’s spell was an add on.
OUT! Mosaddek Hossain c Colin de Grandhomme b Santner 12 (7)
OUT! Shakib Al Hasan c Corey Anderson b Trent Boult 41 (34)

  • 10:48 AM IST

Bangladesh 125/4 in over 16, Shakib Al Hasan 17(21), Mosaddek Hossain 2(2): Victory for Bangladesh from here looks potentially impossible with only 5 wickets in hand, 4 overs to go and 70 runs needed. Nevertheless, they will look to finish playing some good cricket. They should look to reduce the margin now and this is the time to go all guns blazing.
    OUT! Mahmudullah b Ish Sodhi 18 (14)

  • 10:24 AM IST

Bangladesh 105/3 in over 13, Mahmudullah 3(5), Shakib Al Hasan 14(14): Bangladesh have 100 up but have also lost 3 wickets. After a good start to the chase, they are now struggling to maintain the runrate. The pressure will increase. Trent Boult has exceptionally used the pitch to play with pace while Williamson’s spell also looks good now. However, it is a good pitch to bat on and Bangladesh will have to make full use of it to win at least one match in the series.

OUT! Sabbir Rahman bowled Kane Williamson 18 (16)

  • 10:21 AM IST

Bangladesh 89/2 in over 10, Shakib Al Hasan 4(6), Sabbir Rahman 15(11): Bangladesh lose yet another and a set Soumya Sarkar has to depart. Ish Sodhi bowls slower and takes a good return catch to get rid of the batsman. Shakib at the crease now with Sabbir and both are talented batsman. They cannot take much time to settle though since the runrate will go up with the two wickets falling.
OUT! Soumya Sarkar c&b Ish Sodhi 42 (28)

  • 10:07 AM IST

Bangladesh 75/1 in over 7, Soumya Sarkar 40(24), Sabbir Rahman 9(3) : Bangladesh have lost their first wicket but they look to be in a good position. Sarkar is well set and Sabbir has stared off with back to back boundaries. Both look confident and are doing well to chase a huge target as this.
OUT! Tamim Iqbal c Colin de Grandhomme b Trent Boult 24 (15)

  • 9:39 AM IST

Bangladesh 38/0 in over 4, Tamim Iqbal 18(12), Soumya Sarkar 18(13) : This has been a great display of hitting by Sarkar, now even Tamim Iqbal has joined in the party. Both these batsmen are making good use of a batting track on offer. Onus will be on Tamim to play all through the innings if Bangladesh need to get to this record chase.

  • 9:28 AM IST

Bangladesh 11/0 in over 1, Tamim Iqbal 1(1), Soumya Sarkar 8(5) : In a surprise Bangladesh have sent in Soumya Sarkar to open with Tamim Iqbal and not Imrul Kayes. Sarkar in the very first over displayed his power cracking Mitchell Santner for two boundaries.

  • 9:09 AM IST

New Zealand 194/4 in overs 20, Corey Anderson 94(41), Colin de Grandhomme 3(4): This has been a superb batting show by Corey Anderson and earlier by Skipper Williamson. Williamson fell for 60 runs to Rubel. This was also Rubel’s third wicket. From 41 for 3 to 165 for 4, the pair added 124 runs. Anderson also achieved a NZ record for most no of sixes in an innings crossing Brendom McCullum’s tally of 8.

  • 8:58 AM IST

New Zealand 165/3 in overs 18, Corey Anderson 70(33), Kane Williamson 60(56): Sadly for Bangladesh Mashrafe Mortaza has injuired himself and that finishes his New Zealand tour on a bad note. Corey Anderson in the meanwhile has continued his carnage bring up his fifty in 27-balls. Williamson too is now looking to open his arms.

  • 8:51 AM IST

  • 8:42 AM IST

New Zealand 125/3 in overs 15, Corey Anderson 40(23), Kane Williamson 54(49): Absolute carnage by Corey Anderson. Hitting Mortaza for a two sixes and a four in the same over. Williamson was dropped by Shakib on 54. Important for Bangladesh not to lose momentum they had in the middle overs. Also the pair of Williamson and Anderson have notched up 50 runs for themselves.

  • 8:27 AM IST

New Zealand 79/3 in overs 12, Corey Anderson 21(16), Kane Williamson 31(37):Bangladesh showing great commitment on field. Meanwhile, Anderson hits a six. It looked like the ball went vertically up and could be a catch but crossed the distance. Imrul Kayes at deep tried to get it, ended up tumbling over the hoardings at boundary. Hopefully that is no injury as Bangladesh will need him and his batting.

  • 8:03 AM IST

New Zealand 41/3, Kane Williamson 15*, Corey Anderson 0*: Third wicket in as many overs. Tom Bruce goes for 5. Mossadek Hossain gets wicket of his first ball. Bruce was trying to up and over the extra cover region but got holed up. Corey Anderson is out in the middle. From the other end, Williamson is still on 15.

  • 7:53 AM IST

New Zealand 36/2, Kane Williamson 13*,Tom Bruce 0*: OUT! Dangerman Colin Munro goes for naught. The fielder deserves much of the credit superb diving catch. Munro trying to fo over the leg-side skews the ball in the air. Rubel gets his second in this over. Munro scores this series 0,101,0.

James Neesham missed a straighter one which was hitting the middle and leg stump. Rubel bowled it dead straight after drifting down the leg side in the earlier delivery. Centurian from the second T20I Colin Munro is out in the middle.

  • 7:48 AM IST

New Zealand 30/0, Kane Williamson 13*, James Neesham 15*: Bangladesh skipper Mortaza has used a new bowler in every over so far. Kane Williamson is slowly showing signs of form. James Neesham, on the other hand, has struck boundaries at force. Shakib Al Hasan will be expected to perform better.

  • 7:35 AM IST

New Zealand 9/0, Kane Williamson 1*, James Neesham 8*: With no Luke Ronchi Kane Williamson is partnered by James Neesham. Neehsam tore into Mashrafe Mortaza in the first over with 2-blistering boundaries. Will be interesting to see how Williamson play with Neesham going all guns blazing. New Zealand have a long batting line-up.

Good Morning, সুপ্রভাত, Morning pai! Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates’ post for the third and final Twenty20 International (T20I) of the ongoing series between New Zealand and Bangladesh. The teams will face each other at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Sunday. We at CricketCountry will be bringing you the live cricket scores and updates of the third T20I of 2017. Bangladesh, who were handed a 47-run defeat in the 2nd T20I a few days ago at the very same venue, will want to win this one to restore some pride. New Zealand, on the other hand, have already won the series and will want to complete yet another clean sweep over Bangladesh, after they won the ODI series 3-0 as well.

Bangladesh did manage to put up a brave fight in the last match as Sabbir Rahman and Soumya Sarkar made it tough for the hosts to pick their wickets. The pair ensured that Bangladesh were not behind the 8-ball and kept scoring runs at will. Once these two fell the visitors’ tail collapsed like a pack of cards and bundled away for 148 runs chasing 196. Seniors like Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Mortaza will need to step up their game if Bangladesh have any chance to winning the third game.

New Zealand, have looked almost flawless in their batting with the likes of Kane Williamson Colin Munro, Tom Bruce and Colin de Grandhomme putting up their hands up and providing the team with wins. Williamson has been a constant pillar of strength for the young side. The only bad news coming out from the second T20I was the injury to Luke Ronchi, was has now been replaced by Tom Blundell. New Zealand’s bowlers, in the last match came back strongly in the final overs specially Ish Sodhi, Ben Wheeler and Trent Boult.
