The two Asian sides, Bangladesh and Pakistan will be engaging in a three-match ODI series as well as a one-off Twenty20 International. The two limited-overs series will be followed up by a two-match Test series, starting April 28.

As far as the hosts are concerned, all eyes will be on them to carry on the good show which they produced in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, in which they qualified for the quarter-final round Down Under. Bangladesh defeated teams such as England to advance to the second round of the tournament, which showed their progress as well as the promise which this particular bunch has under the leadership of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.

On the other hand, Pakistan will be eager to have their star spinner Saeed Ajmal back among the wicket-takers. Ajmal was cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after the spinner remodelled his bowling action in February, but he missed the 2015 World Cup and the first Bangladesh versus Pakistan ODI will be the first game wherein Ajmal will be seen after making the necessary changes.
