Stumps on Day 3: So its end of Day’s play. It has been a fascinating day’s play at Dhaka. Bangladesh openers started the chase well but the wicket of Kayes will hurt their confidence.  Bangladesh still need 487 runs to win the Test. The wicket is turning a lot and as the ball will become old, Pakistan spinners will come into the game. It will be a very tough Day Four for the hosts.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of the third day of the second Test between Bangladesh and Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on Thursday. This is Sandipan Banerjee, and I will be presenting to you the live updates from the day’s play.

The second day of the test between Pakistan and Bangladesh saw Pakistan, the visitors, emerge clearly as favourites to win this game as they reduced the hosts to 107 for five after declaring at a mammoth 557 for eight. Asad Shafiq piled on the misery for Bangladesh bowlers scoring 107. The partnership fetched 207 runs and they didn’t allow Bangladesh any chance of comeback of any sorts.

The Bangladesh batsmen in response didn’t show much fight and lost wickets at a rapid rate. The first wicket was lost in the form of Tamim Iqbal in the very first over of their innings and Bangladesh didn’t show much of a recovery from there. The home team will have to put on a brave show on Day Three of the Test to change their fortunes.

Teams:

Bangladesh: Mushfiqur Rahim(c & wk), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Shuvagata Hom, Taijul Islam, Shahadat Hossain, Mohammad Shahid

Pakistan: Misbah-ul-Haq(c), Mohammad Hafeez, Sami Aslam, Azhar Ali, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed(wk), Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan, Imran Khan
