Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live updates for Day Five of the second Test between Sri Lanka versus Bangladesh at the P Sara Oval, Colombo. I, Paulami Chakraborty, will provide all the live cricket scores and happenings of this decider. Well, to be honest, Bangladesh are on the verge of snatching a defeat from the jaws of victory. That, for that matter, has been their story. When they finally see light at the end of a tunnel, they make things look even darker. However, Bangladesh taking everyone aback is not new to us. That said, they may as well win this Test and level the series. Full Cricket Scorecard: Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test at Colombo

Sri Lanka board treated Bangladesh for completing 100 Tests. Does not that sound as a nice gesture to congratulate their Asian neighbour for attaining the milestone? However, if they lose the match, we may as well see Bangladesh sponsoring a treat in return. Jokes apart. We, without a shadow of doubt, are in for a show. Fasten the seatbelts. In Ravi Shastri’s words (of wisdom): “It promises to be a crackerjack of a contest.”

Sri Lanka lead by 139 runs, with 2 wickets in hand. At the crease are Dilruwan Perera and Suranga Lakmal. For them to post a safe total, these two will have to bat out of their skin so No. 10 Lakshan Sandakan does not have to face the heat. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will look to take the last 2 wickets and chase down a rather paltry total if they are to pull off the unlikely.

Sri Lanka were 176 for 3 at one stage. It seemed Bangladesh would dismantle the hosts within 200. But Bangladesh, being the Bangladesh they are reputed for, got complacent and wasted the opportunity. In addition, they dropped a few catches and then missed a run-out chance. All these episodes may add to their numerous comedy of errors. They will regret (or feel remorse, given the contest) if they lose this match.

Whether Bangladesh emerge triumphant or stay true to their reputation, is a question only time will tell.
