Zimbabwe still trail by 390 runs with 9 wickets remaining in the 1st innings. For Bangladesh Rubel Hossain is the only wicket-taker. Raza and Masakadza looked comfortable against the spinners. If Zimbabwe want to save this Test match, they need to get close to the Bangladesh’s score. First session of the third day will be crucial for them.

Sikandar Raza has completed his half-century in tough, unfriendly Bangladesh conditions. He has stood tall and slammed poor balls for good runs. While Masakadza is also playing a solid innings. And yes, the 100 also comes up for the visitors. This day has totally gone to Zimbabwe. They were on spot with the ball, picked up quick wickets. From 303 for two at the first day, they managed to bundle out Bangladesh for 503.
Both these batsmen are tacking the Bangladesh spin attack pretty well. Occasional boundaries keep flowing. Sikandar Raza has so far hit eight fours.
Zimbabwe have started well after losing Brian Chari only in the second over of their innings. Sikandar Raza started the inning well as he smacked Shafiul Islam for two boundaries.

Bangladesh have been bowled out for a score plus 500. They must be happy with the effort but still they could have got more looking at the start they got. This is the highest last wicket partnership for Bangladesh against Zimbabwe.

Rubel is dealing  in sixes and boundaries. The 144th over bowled by Raza was belted for 14 runs Rubel Hossain. He smashes two more sixes in the following over. Bangladesh are closing in on 500.
Shafiul Islam’s resistance has finally fallen as he throws his wicket. Sikander Raza flashed a flighted delivery and Islam in an attempt to slog it hands a simple catch to Ervine at mid wicket. Another one now. Shuvagata Hom is run-out. Bangladesh seem to getting the habit of throwing the wickets in pair. The urge to get the extra run has cost Shuvagata his wicket. He was playing well, he did the hard work but now he must be unhappy to leave in this fashion.

So Bangladesh goes on to score runs. Shakib Al Hasan has also crossed the 2500 runs mark in Test cricket. He is inching towards another Test ton while Shuvagata Hom has stayed on the wicket and faired decently.
20 runs added in the five overs bowled by Zimbabwean bowlers post-lunch. Shakib Al Hasan also got to his 17th Test half-century with a brilliant boundary off Hamilton Masakadza.

It’s lunch on day two of the final Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe would the happier side at lunch. They got three crucial wickets in the first session. They can still bounce back in the game if they bowl out Bangladesh quickly and pile a big score when they come to bat.

Now, Panyangara is removed from the bowling. He was successful as he managed to get a wicket for Zimbabwe.

Tinashe Panyangara and Natsai Mushangwe have opened the bowling for Zimbabwe. And now, Panyangara has managed to get a wicket of Haque. He gets an outside edge and Brendon Taylor at slip takes the catch. So, Zimbabwe have started the day well and got the early breakthrough. This will give them some confidence.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the second day of the third and final Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe at Chittagong. I am Varun Arora and I will take you through the day’s proceedings.

Imrul Kayes and Tamim Iqbal smashed individual centuries which took Bangladesh to a score of 303 for two at the end of first day’s play. It was a day when records were shattered with every run which Iqbal and Kayes added. Zimbabwe are already trailing the series 2-0 and this sluggish bowling performance will hurt them big time. The torpid fielding effort also added to their woes. Mushfiqur Rahim, the Bangladesh captain won the toss early in the morning and opted to bat first after watching the flat Chittagong wicket.

The decision changed the fortunes of the Bangladesh cricket team. Kayes who was drafted in the team in place of Shamsur Rehman after recovering from a skin infection made full use of the opportunity and belted 130 before he was dismissed by Hamilton Masakadza. His opening partner, Iqbal looked in sublime touch from the start and went on to score 109 before he tried to hit Sikandar Raza but was caught by Masakadza. Utilizing the foundation laid by the openers Monimul Haque stood on the wicket till the end of the day’s play. He remained unbeaten on 46 at stumps.
