SA WIN!!!! That’s it, and what a game of cricket we had, going down to the wire until the final ball. however, South africa held their nerves despite England’s tough batting line-up as they have staged an impressive comeback in the series, while they will be fighting it out in the decider in the thrid T20I at Cardiff on Sunday.

OUT! Liam Livingstone run out (Morne Morkel/Mosehle/Phehlukwayo) 16 (18)

  • 12:55 AM IST
GONE!!!! The skipper too could not contribute much as he falls for mere six to Paterson after being caught by de Villiers, while Dawson is the new man in. 12 neede dof the final six, can England seal the series?

OUT! Eoin Morgan c AB de Villiers b Dane Paterson 6 (4)

  • 12:48 AM IST
GONE!!!! Buttler is the latest man to depart for mere 10, after being bowled over by Phehlukwayo off a yorker, while skipper Morgan comes in. Can England see this out? Still a close game to call.

GONE!!!! Now thi’s one’s interesting. Roy has been given out for Obstructing the field. It was actually a dead ball, while the South Africans appealed for Roy to be coming inside the field of throw deliberately in the field of throw. The soft signal was not out, however later the decison was changed to out after the umpires reviewd it. Buttler is the new man in.

OUT! Jason Roy obstructing the field 67 (45)

  • 12:23 AM IST
GONE!!!! Finally, another breakthrough for South Africa, but is it too late. Bairstow falls just three runs short of his half-century, as he is caught by Behardien off Morris, while Livingstone is the new man in. England still on course to win this, while South Africa need regular wickets from hereon.
OUT! Jonny Bairstow c Farhaan Behardien b Chris Morris 47 (37)
  • 12:13 AM IST
More than half-way through, England are still going steady. Need 67 more off 51 deliveries, Roy has already gone past his half-century, while Bairstow too is in the forties and aprroaches his half-century. Can South Africa come up with something special?
  • 12:07 AM IST

  • 11:56 PM IST

The English innings continues to get strong as both Roy and Bairstow continue their spelndid innings so far, while Roy is in the forties and approaches his half-century.

  • 11:52 PM IST

  • 11:42 PM IST

No harm done following the opening loss of Billings, as Roy and Bairstow have taken charge of the innings. However, there has been some disciplined bowling from the South Africans, hardly allowing the English batsmen to score freely. Tough contest so far.

  • 11:30 PM IST

  • 11:30 PM IST
GONE!!!! And the opening wicket os down for the hosts in the second over of the innings, as Billings is dismissed for mere three by Morris after being caught by Miller, while Man of the Match from the openining T20I, Bairstow makes his way in. Still nothing to panic for England, nevertheless.

OUT! Sam Billings c David Miller b Chris Morris 3 (4)
  • 11:05 PM IST
THAT’S IT!!!! South Africa do manage to get past the 170-run mark, while Behardien was the final wicket to fall, as he was dismissed for 32, after Jordan trapped him leg-before. Nevertheless, pretty impressive performance by the Proteas batsmen, as compared to the opening T20I. However, can their bowlers defend the total, considering the brilliant form of the English batsmen?

OUT! Farhaan Behardien lbw b Chris Jordan 32 (21)
  • 11:03 PM IST

  • 10:58 PM IST

  • 10:56 PM IST
GONE!!!! And another one in the same pver, as Phehlukwayo is bowled off Curran off the very forst ball for an unfortunate duck. Seven more deliveries remaining in the innings, is 170 still on?

OUT! Andile Phehlukwayo b Tom Curran 0 (1)
  • 10:54 PM IST

  • 10:53 PM IST
GONE!!!! Well, here is another setback as Morris falls for mere 12 to Curran after being caught by Roy, while Phehlukwayo makes his way in. Is 170 still on?

OUT! Chris Morris c Jason Roy b Tom Curran 12 (11)
  • 10:51 PM IST

No harm doen following the dismissal of de Villiers as Behardien and Morris have almost brought South africa near the 160-run mark. Can they go past it, possibly beyond 170?

  • 10:38 PM IST

  • 10:37 PM IST
GONE!!! This is a massive blow and it’s the skipper de Villiers, who falls short of his half-century by just four runs, as he is dimsissed for 46 by Willey after being caught by Morgan. Morris is the new man in. can South Africa go past 160?

OUT! AB de Villiers c Eoin Morgan b David Willey 46 (20)
  • 10:30 PM IST

  • 10:29 PM IST
GONE!!!! And again, as South Africa start showing slumpiness in their batting, with Miller being the latest to be dismissed for mere eight Plunkett after being caught behind off Buttler, as Behardien makes his way in. More than seven overs to go, South africa still have a lot to play and put up a good total.

OUT! David Miller c Jos Buttler b Liam Plunkett 8 (10)
  • 10:22 PM IST

  • 10:19 PM IST
GONE!!!! The third wicket goes down as well at the end of the 11th over, as opener Smuts misses out of his half-century by just five runs. Dawson makes him caught off Plunkett for a healthy 45, as Miller makes his way in.

OUT! JJ Smuts c Liam Plunkett b Liam Dawson 45 (35)

Good Evening, Goeienaand! Hello and Welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog session of the second of the three-match Twenty20 International (t20I) series between hosts England and visitors South Africa at the County Ground in Taunton on Friday. I am Ayush Gupta, and I will be bringing to you all the live updates from this tie. England came up with a commendable performance in the opening T20I at Southampton, drubbing South Africa convincingly by nine wickets and draw first blood in the series. They will be looking forward to continue with the same winning momentum and seal the series with a win here. As for South Africa, they are certainly not a team to back down so easily and a great fightback could well be on the cards as they look to stay alive in the series. Speaking of the opening T20I, South Africa managed to post only 142 for 3 in their stipulated 20 overs, courtesy AB de Villiers’ unbeaten 65, along with Farhaan Behardien’s unbeaten 64.England bowlers David Willey and Mark Wood gave South Africa a scare in the opening five overs, reducing them to 3 wickets. For England, they were off to a steady start during the chase, with openers Alex Hales and Jason Roy putting up a quick 45 in their stand. However, it was Jonny Bairstow, whose unbeaten 60 paved the way for England to complete the chase. ENG vs SA 2017, 2nd T20I at Taunton, preview and likely XI

With the match being held at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton, the pitch would be interesting to see how it behaves. Usually, it is a batting paradise. This would also be the first T20I at this venue. England have played just an ODI at this venue on June 11, 1983, which was the opening international match at this venue off the three ODI matches, against Sri Lanka, where they won by 47 runs. Although the venue is an active T20 venue for county club Somerset, which has produced greats like Marcus Trescothick, it would be interesting to see how things go in the first ever T20I tie at this venue.
