At stumps on day two, Goa were 81 for the loss of two wickets. Amogh Desai and Amit Yadav were unbeaten on 38 and 1 respectively. Goa have 15 points from six games while Kerala have 12 from five matches. Add to it, Goa haven’t lost a match so far but Kerala have lost one. Goa and Kerala have drawn five and four matches respectively. Goa played well in their previous match against Saurashtra where they declared their second innings on 299 for seven. Talking of Kerala, they too played well in their last match but that game was against minnows Tripura. They got three points from that game as they took a first innings lead in the encounter.

Coming back to this match, Goa have their task cut out against Kerala. Getting near 441 will not be an easy job, with Kerala’s bowler Monish Kareparambil’s bowling posing a serious threat. Monish has been very successful in this tournament and has emerged as one of the leading wicket-takers. It will be interesting to see how Goa batsmen plan their innings. Kerala scored 441 in their only innings of the match. Fabid Ahmed has been the star for them, with his hundred after coming in to bat at No. 8 and four wickets in the match. Robert too got a hundred while Sandeep Warrier’s 9 wicket in the match were also important. There is nothing noteworthy about Goa’s performance.
