Yesterday, Gujarat won the toss and decided to bat first. At stumps on day one, Gujarat were 252 for the loss of six wickets. Akhar Patel and RB Kalaria were at the crease batting on 35 and four runs respectively. Akshar Patel slammed three boundaries and a shot for maximum in his knock. It will be interesting to see Akshar’s approach today— will he try to build a partnership with Kalaria or he will strive to score quickly fearing that he may end up as the last man standing. Madhya Pradesh are at second spot in the rankings in Group B after Mumbai. They have 17 points while Gujarat have 16 from five matches. Madhya Pradesh haven’t lost a match in the tournament so far. They won two, drew two while one match fetched no result due to bad weather. Gujarat  is at fourth position with just a point less from Madhya Pradesh. Having played five matches, Gujarat won two, drew two and lost one match. Parthiv Patel did not deliver yesterday, getting out for just 19 runs. Madhya Pradesh will be banking heavily on Naman Ojha to deliver the goods when they come to bat later on. It will be interesting to see if Gujarat succeed in going past 350 today.
