They posted a respectable total of 273 in the first innings and bowled Gujarat out for a mere score of 100. They are now well placed at 163 for 7 and have gained a massive lead of 336 runs on Day 3. Piyush Chawla and Praveen Kumar are unbeaten at the crease for 17 and 5 runs respectively. Gujarat are currently placed at fifth in the table with 9 points while Uttar Pradesh are placed seventh with 7 points to their name.

Praveen Kumar made the utmost use of the new ball as he chipped early wickets and provided his team with early breakthroughs. Surabh Kumar and Praveen accounted for all ten wickets and each shared a fifer. Gujarat batsmen were at sixes and seven as just three of them managed to reach double figures with Parthiv Patel being the highest at 39.

Uttar Pradesh gained a lead of 173 from the first innings and continued to pile runs in the second innings too. After a shaky start, Umang Sharma stuck to his guns and scored a tenacious 66. They have somehow managed 163 runs at stumps on Day 2 and have an enormous lead of 336 runs. They will look to add some more runs and set a difficult target for Gujarat to chase.
