Match No.2 will take place between Hong Kong and Oman at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Outer Stadium, Fatullah. Match No.1 had Afghanistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE) battle against each other at the same menu. Each of the associate nations will play three matches in this stage and the team with the maximum points at hand will qualify for the main event. Oman scoring runs in singles and doubles at the moment as boundaries are difficult to score. Jatinder Singh and Wategaonkar have held on to their post and trying to score as many runs as possible. The foundation is now laid for the middle-order to capitalise on. The last time the two teams met for a T20I series, Oman came out as the winner. Oman won the three-match T20I series 2-1 against Hong Kong, winning the first two matches, losing the final and third match. The team have bowlers like Bilal Khan and Mehran Khan and batsman like Adnan Ilyas who only add to their strength. On the other hand, Hong Kong had recently drawn a series with Scotland. The team has experienced bowlers like Haseeb Amjad and Nadeem Ahmed who can change the game at any point of time, with Anshuman Rath, Babar Hayat and Mark Chapman taking over the batting duties. The format of the qualifiers would be contested under the round-robin rules, where the winner progresses to the main round to play Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
