Jharkand are coming off a superb victory in the previous round. They thrashed Himachal Pradehs by an innings and 71 runs in Round 8, thereby grabbing seven vital points which kept them alive for their progress to the next level in the league. Batting first, Jharkand posted 337 runs in 103 overs, their opener Shiv Gautam slamming 122 from 259 balls. In reply to that, they bundled out their opponents for a mere total of 133 runs, thereby taking a huge lead of 204 runs. Jharkand then enforced the follow-on on Himachal which was followed by the visitors getting bowled out for a total of 133 runs again, and that handed Jharkand a convincing victory in Round 8.
On the other hand, Hyderabad had their contest against Tripura in the previous round which had ended in a draw. Hanuma Vihariâs double ton powered Hyderabad to a first innings total of 548. After declaring, they bowled out the North-East team for a paltry total of 237 in 82.4 overs. Enforcing follow-on, Tripura was put to bat again, but Hyderabad failed to bowl them out this time and therefore the game ended in a daw. Hyderabad settled for three points for their first innings lead.
