Hello and welcome to CricketCountryâs live cricket blog and updates of the 12th match in the ongoing ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016, between Sri Lanka and their Asian rivals Afghanistan. We at CricketCountry will be bringing you the live cricket scores and updates of this match. The match is a Group B match and will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. This is the first time the Under-19 Cricket World Cup is being organised in Bangladesh, and as many as 16 teams are taking part in the tournament that began on January 27. The tournament will go on till February 14, and it consists of as many as 48 matches to be played across 8 venues in 4 Bangladeshi cities. While Sri Lanka are coming off a massive thrashing of a lowly Canada team in their first match of the tournament, the Afghanistan team suffered a 6-wicket defeat to Pakistan in their opening game in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Sri Lanka produced a rampant display against Canada as they won their first match of the tournament by 196 runs. Sri Lanka scored 315/6 in their innings, and Canada were bowled out for a paltry 119 at Sylhet.
On the other hand, Pakistan and Afghanistan match was a low-scoring affair. Pakistan did not face many issues as they bowled out Afghanistan for 126 in 41.2 overs, and chased down the target successfully in 31.3 overs with 6 wickets in hand.
