IT will be India’s first appearance in the World Cup this year who are coming off two comfortable wins in the warm-up matches. India faced Canada and Pakistan in the warm-up matches. India smashed Canada all over the park as they went on to post a mammoth score of 485 in first innings before bowling out their opponents for 113. McClintock was dropped by Sundar Washington in the previous ball at deep midwicket but did not survive in the next ball. He reached that figure with a stylish SIX. Slogged swept into the stands over mid-wicket. Meanwhile, we probabaly had the first upset in the World Cup? Nepal thrashed New Zealand by 32 runs to seal their opening game of the tournamnet. From here, Ireland need 118 runs from 60 balls. A huge task for both the side.

Both wickets were picked by Rahul Batham. The 17 year old stuck in his third over, first dimissed Adam Denninson in the 15th over. That was unlucy for the batsman. When he tried to push it over the third man, the keeper completely missed it but Ricky Bhui who was on first slip was alert and quick enough to complete a fantastic catch. Batham was brought back and he struck again, leaving two new batsmen on crease for Ireland. Bhui once again helped him at first slip, he juggles a bit but eventually safely took Gary McClintock’s catch, leaving Ireland struggling at 46 for 4. OUT! After the dismissals of Sarfaraz Khan and Washington Sundar, it was Zeeshan Ansari who ensured India go past 250. He scored a run ball 36 before getting dismissed in the in the 49th over. Until then Sarfaraz had been hitting all the loose deliveries but carefully. He has given just one run and none in his last two overs. Anders has bowled six overs, taking 2 wickets and giving away just six runs. However, all the four bowlers of Ireland so far have not let their economy go above five, which is good news for them. Indian batsmen are clearly stuggling against them.

The players to look for in the Indian squad are skipper Ishan Kishan, Sarfaraaz Khan, Ricky Bui and many others who have performed well recently in the domestic circuit. Meanwhile, the Irish camp also have some promising names in the side with the likes of Jack Tector, Stephen Dohen and many others.
The Indian skipper Kishan recently admitted that he would like to lift the trophy like Virat Kohli and Unmukt Chand who won the World Cup as India’s Under-19 skippers in 2008 and 2012 respectively. “In 2008 and 2012 India won the Under-19 World Cup. There’s been a four-year gap so people are expecting that from me,” Kishan said.” It is not that big of a pressure on me but I am really enjoying this moment. Strength of my team is that almost every batsman can bowl. We have a pace bowling attack that’s good. We have a good fielding unit. Our batting goes till No 8, which is a plus point. It will help us in the matches,” Kishan said.
