Hello, good morning and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and updates of second match of Deodhar Trophy 2016-17 between India Red and Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016-17 champion Tamil Nadu. I, Abhishek Kumar will be bringing you all the live cricket scores and posts from this game being played at Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. The Parthiv Patel-led India Red have already won the first match and will be bit relaxed after that win against India Blue. Their win against India Blue saw opener Shikhar Dhawan make cracking return to form by scoring blistering century. Dhawan scored 122-ball 128, including 13 fours and three sixes. He was well supported by skipper Parthiv (50) along with Jharkhand’s veteran batsman Ishank Jaggi (53).

Riding on Dhawan’s ton, India Blue posted good total of 327, to which they defended convincingly with the help of Dhawal Kulkarni’s hat-trick. His Hat-trick came in two different overs. He first picked Shardul Thakur’s wicket off the last ball of 46th over, then taking the other two in 49th over, hereby leading India Blue to a 23-run victory.

Coming to Tamil Nadu side, they performed exceptionally well in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016-17. The final of the tournament saw Tamil Nadu beat Bengal by defending only 217, which speaks volumes about their bowling strength that comprises Baba Aparajith, Aswin Crist, Rahil Shah, M Mohammed and Washington Sunar. The side is led by 26-year old Vijay Shankar. The side also includes Dinesh Karthik, who is in good form and was the highest run-getter in the tournament. He also scored hundred in the final, which helped Tamil Nadu win the tournament. All in all, both the sides have balanced team but one should not forget that India Blue have more experienced players and that gives them upper hand.
