Australia managed to reach a modest score of 252 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the ninth One-Day International (ODI) match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Sunday.

Shane Watson, Australia s stand-in captain decided to bat first after winning the toss. Making a comeback in the Indian team, Praveen Kumar grabbed early wickets as Australia s stand-in captain Shane Watson was his first victim after scoring just one run.

Kumar was the most successful Indian bowler with two wickets conceding only 37 runs. But David Warner looked at his best scoring at brisk pace. But he eventually feel to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 68 runs.

Before the match begun, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar was honoured at SCG as he became the first overseas player to be presented with the honorary life membership of the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.

India need to win the ODI match to keep the hopes for qualifying the finals of the CB Series.
