Virat Kohli and Wriddhiman Saha added 114 runs to revive India in the second session of the third day of the final Test against Australia at Adelaide. India reached 225 for six at tea and still trail by a further 379 runs.

Kohli and Saha kept Australian bowlers at bay and didn t give them any chance to capitalise in the second session, as they added 114 runs for the sixth wicket to give their side a much-needed boost.

Kohli played a fluent knock of an unbeaten 91, hitting seven boundaries and a six. On the other hand, Saha was cautious during his stay at the crease but showed some confidence when he danced down the track to hit a six off Nathan Lyon.

Earlier at lunch, India’s famed top-order collapsed yet again as the visitors were tottering at 122 for five.

Resuming at 61 for 2, India had all their premier batsmen back in the hut, but for Virat Kohli (21 batting) who was in company of wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha (5 batting).

India still trail by 482 runs to Australia’s first innings score of 604 for seven.

Peter Siddle, for the umpteenth time in this series, hurt India with two scalps first up before VVS Laxman (18) was sent packing off Nathan Lyon’s bowling.

Saha faced balls and struck one boundary and a six during his innings of 34.
