India scored 144 runs at the loss of six wickets on day one of the third Test against Australia at WACA, Perth.

Indian top-order batsmen continued to struggle on a bowler-friendly track at WACA. Virat Kohli top scored for India with 44 runs was dismissed by Peter Siddle five overs prior to tea break.

Kohli s dismissal was followed by the wicket of VVS Laxman who was dismissed by Siddle for 31 runs.

Earlier, India lost openers Virender Sehwag (0), Gautam Gambhir (31), Rahul David (9) and Sachin Tendulkar (15) in the first session which put them on the backfoot from the word ‘go’.

Put in to bat on a green-top, India lost opener Virender Sehwag (0) and Rahul Dravid (9) inside the first hour.

Sehwag was at the crease for 15 minutes and had faced only three balls when a Hilfenhaus delivery pitched on the leg stump and shaped away taking the edge of Sehwag’s bat and Ricky Ponting took a low catch in second slip.
