Nagpur: Dec 15, 2012

After tottering at 87 for four at stumps on Day Two, India clawed back into the fourth Test match against England at Nagpur thanks to the 75-run stand between Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The two middle-order batsmen showed a lot of resolve in the first session of the day, scoring patiently at less than two runs an over on a dead pitch at Jamtha and did not give England anything to cheer about.

India still face a huge task ahead of them if they are to get anything out of this match and both sessions that lie ahead on Day Three will prove vital in it.

Kohli is on 46 off 155 balls while Dhoni has 31 runs to his name off 103 balls. Debutant Ravindra Jadeja and all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin are the other batsmen to follow.

Brief Scores: England 330 (Kevin Pietersen 73, Joe Root 73, Matt Prior 57, Graeme Swann 56; Piyush Chawla 4 for 69, Ishant Sharma 3 for 49) lead India 146 for 4 (Virat Kohli 46, Gautam Gambhir 37; James Anderson 3 for 31) by 184 runs
