Hello everyone! Welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of Day Three of the second Test of the Gandhi-Mandela series between India and South Africa at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. I am Shiamak Unwalla, and I will bring you all the live cricket scores and updates of this match. Sadly, Day Two was washed out without a ball being bowled. However, with one innings already over and the other innings having already yielded 80 runs, a result in the match is still very much a possibility. India are in firm control of the match, but the pitch might have changed considerably since Day One, where batting was not nearly as tough as the South African batsmen made it look. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs South Africa 2nd Test at Bengaluru

11:30 Update: Terrible news for cricket lovers, I’m afraid. The unseasonal rains (or are they?) in Bangalore have ensured there will be no play on Day Three either.

9:15 Update: Bad news folks. It looks like we might have another washout today. The first session is definitely off the table. No possible play till around 11:30. Stay tuned for more updates.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja ensured that Day One belonged firmly to India by combining to take eight South African wickets as the Proteas folded up for a paltry 214. Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan then added an unbroken 80 for the opening wicket as India ended the day trailing by a mere 134 runs. AB de Villiers scored 85 in his 100th Test, but as has been the case all series, waged more or less a lone battle. Dean Elgar batted resolutely but without much success, while Morne Morkel slogged a bit toward the end. The ball is firmly in India’s court; it all depends on how many runs the batsmen can score before South Africa bat again.
