Heinrich Klaasen, the local boy, wins the Man of the Match. Kohli says it was difficult for the bowlers to grip the ball after 12 overs as the constant drizzle made it very tough.

  • 12:51 AM IST

And Duminy finishes it off in style. That’s over long-on for a huge six. South Africa win by six wickets. They needed 12 off 10 and all it took were two blows from the captain. Fantastic knock from Duminy. South Africa level it 1-1.

  • 12:50 AM IST

A two and then a wide. Not at all going India’s way. South Africa walk home with ease unless they decide not to be South Africa. Unadkat hurls a full-toss (must have slipped) and Duminy goes over deep midwicket for a six. 6 off 9 balls.

  • 12:47 AM IST

Bhuvi Unadkat to bowl the penultimate over…

  • 12:46 AM IST

Thakur to bowl his final over. The over goes 1 2 1 1. Just falls short of Bhuvi at deep extra cover. Duminy stays. Six off the first five balls. The rain has got heavier. Common, don’t spoil this brilliant game. Duminy gets a bottom edge for four. That’s fifty for Duminy. SA need 16 off 12. This is Duminy’s 10 T20I fifty.

Bhuvi into the attack with too little to defend. 33 runs off 4 overs. SA are well ahead of the DLS method score and the rain has just got heavier. A misfield at point gives Behardien a single. Duminy now gets two. Amid the Klaasen carnage, I have mentioned very little about Duminy but this has been an innings of quality. A seven-run over from Bhuvi. SA need 26 off 18 balls.

  • 12:36 AM IST

Chahal to bowl. Gives Duminy width and the southpaw punishes him through deep extra cover for four. Oh dear, Dhoni misses a stumping the next ball, Duminy was way out of the crease. The ball hit his pad and that probably unsettled Dhoni there. Now Behardien sweeps Chahal for a six. It hasn’t been Chahal’s night. A wide and then that goes through between Chahal’s palms. A dropped chance. This is a night he will forget. He finishes with 4-0-64-0.

  • 12:31 AM IST

A good couple of minutes for India. They find Miller’s wicket. Pandya gets the key wicket. A short ball, Miller looks to clear long-leg, he finds Thakur running in from fine-leg. Big blow for South Africa. Six runs from Pandya’s over and a wicket. SA need 47 off 5 overs.

OUT! David Miller c Shardul Thakur b Hardik Pandya 5 (6)

Just five runs from the Unadkat-over. South Africa need 53 off 6 overs. It’s still under six an over. With Klaasen gone, will Kohli show trust on Chahal, who has gone for 51 off his three?

  • 12:22 AM IST

Unadkat, it is. And he strikes right away. It’s a slower ball, a slower off-cutter, Klaasen looks to play over mid-on and goes for it early. The edge lands to Dhoni’s gloves.

OUT! Heinrich Klaasen c MS Dhoni b Jaydev Unadkat 69 (30)
  • 12:19 AM IST

Duminy joins the show. A six to end Chahal’s over. 23 off it. South Africa’s game to lose from here. They need 58 off 7 overs. Unadkat or Bhuvi? SOS

  • 12:17 AM IST

Klaasen continues carnage. Chahal tosses it up and it’s between deep square-leg and deep mid-wicket for a six. He targets the same region again and back-to-back sixes. Pandya, the man stationed there can only watch the ball go over him. Now a reverse-sweep. 16 for Chahal off first three. The intelligent Chahal looks clueless here. 65 off 45 balls.

  • 12:13 AM IST

South Africa need 81 off 48 balls. They have 8 wickets in hand.

  • 12:12 AM IST

Short from Pandya, Klaasen gets into position quickly and hammers it to long-leg region for a boundary. That’s his maiden T20I fifty. Both the keepers have slammer fifties in this game.

  • 12:08 AM IST

Klaasen goes over extra cover. For a change, midwicket is spared. The result is the same — six. That’s the fifty-run stand. Now a reverse-sweep for a six. This is some show from. This is his home ground. 100-up for South Africa in 11 overs. 16 off the Chahal-over.

  • 12:04 AM IST

Thakur bowls an excellent over. Just four off it. Half-way mark South Africa are 84. They need another 104.

  • 11:59 PM IST

Klaasen is doing a Dhoni here. It’s already a 42-run stand off just 24 balls.

  • 11:54 PM IST

12 from the Chahal over. South Africa are 70 for 2 after 8 overs. South Africa are doing well at the moment. The equation will change once a wicket falls.

  • 11:52 PM IST

Klaasen gets his third. Welcomes Chahal into the attack with one over midwicket. Is it going to be his day?

  • 11:45 PM IST

Pandya welcomes with a brilliantly-timed cut from Duminy. That’s four.

  • 11:44 PM IST

Klaasen promoted. And we know why. Short from Unadkat and the wicketkeeper-batsman deposits it over long-on for a six. Unadkat replies with two back-to-back well guised slower ones. Now back of length and Klaasen clears the deep midwicket boundary again. Good contest, this. Four dots and two sixes from that over.

  • 11:39 PM IST

Two boundaries off Thakur’s over. South Africa need 3 off 1 ball to be on par with DLS method. And well, Hendricks falls. So India firm favourites if it pours now. Good catch by Pandya running in from deep midwicket.

OUT! Reeza Hendricks c Hardik Pandya b Shardul Thakur 26 (17)
  • 11:35 PM IST

Duminy has been out of form. The skipper will have to deliver if South Africa have to level the series. He starts with a hit over in deep midwicket region for a boundary. The show will have to continue. The drizzle continues. South Africa will have to play the catch up game with Duckworth-Lewis as well.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the India tour of South Africa 2017-18. This is the penultimate game of the tour. South Africa are fighting to stay alive in the T20I series as the teams return to SuperSport Park, Centurion for the second T20I. I am Suvajit Mustafi and I will provide you the live updates and the best of tweets from today’s contest.

This is the fourth time in this tour that the sides will be playing at Centurion. India lost the second Test here to concede the series last month. However, India pulled off two big wins in the ODI series. The South African side is plagued with injuries, and they will hope for the youngsters to shine, whereas for India, domination will keep ruling their mind. Riding on the form of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and the two wrist spinners, India have exhibited a ruthless show in the limited-overs.

The woman’s match earlier was abandoned due to rain, so the weather may play a spoilsport to the contest.

Like promoting Suresh Raina at No.3, you could expect more surprises. My guesses for respective XIs:

India: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli (c), Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal

South Africa should promote Chris Morris. He has enough IPL experience and has played against these bowlers. It makes little sense to keep him till penultimate over.

South Africa: Reeza Hendricks, Jon-Jon Smuts, JP Duminy (c), David Miller, Farhaan Behardien, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Andile Phehlukwayo, Chris Morris, Dane Paterson, Junior Dala, Tabraiz Shamsi
