Tillakaratne Dilshan struck a fine half-century as Sri Lanka cruised to 108 for one from 25 overs against India in the 11th ODI match of the CB Series at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
India’s decision to field first backfired as Sri Lankan openers Dilshan and Mahela Jayawardene provided their side a confident start, adding 49 runs for the first wicket.
It was Ravindra Jadeja who provided India the much-needed breakthrough when he had Jayawardene caught by Virender Sehwag for 22 off 33 balls.
After Jayawardene’s fall, Kumar Sangakkara teamed up with Dilshan to take his side forward.
Dilshan carried on his good form hitting five boundaries to reach 54 not out, which came off 80 balls.
Sangakkara was batting on 29 off 37 balls.
