It is Sachin Tendulkar’s 199th Test, but all eyes will be first on Ravichandran Ashwin who is nearing his second Test ton for India against West Indies at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Day Three. If India proceed like the way they did in the last session on the second day, Rohit Sharma is well set to break some records and head to a double ton.

India were 354 for six in reply to 234 posted by West Indies. While fans across the world waited eagerly for Tendulkar to bat, they were left disappointed as the maestro got out on just 10 runs to a harsh leg-before decision by Umpire Nigel Llong.

India will look to build the lead on Friday and bat West Indies out of the game. Considering the challenging surface, it is going to be tough to bat in the third and fourth innings. So any lead from now on is going to build the pressure on West Indies.

Brief scores:

West Indies 234 (Marlon Samuels 65; Shami Ahmed 4 for 71, Ravichandran Ashwin 2 for 52) trail India 354 for 6 (Rohit Sharma 127*, Ravichandran Ashwin 92*; Shane Shillingford 4 for 130) by 120 runs.
