Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the first match of the 1st Twenty20 International (T20I) at Adelaide.  This is Vishal Mehra, and I shall keep you updated with the events of the match as and when they happen. India Women’s Tour of Australia consists of three T20Is to start from today at Adelaide followed by the 2nd T20I at Melbourne on Friday and final at Sydney on Sunday. Team India is lead by Mithali Raj and Australia is lead by Meg Lanning. In 2015, Lanning was named as ICC Women’s One-Day International (ODI) Cricketer of the Year. Match Report: India Women team chased down a historic 141 runs set by Australia women’s team. This is the highest run chase by India women in T20 cricket.

Man of the Match : Harmanpreet Kaur , Kaur smashed her way though the Australia attack making 46 runs off just 31 balls. She in her innings hit six four’s and one huge six.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: India Women XI 141/5 in 18.4; BATTING: Shikha Pandey 4(4) , Anuja Patil 14(8): FOUR!! and India women chase down Australia Women XI total of 140 runs with Harmnapreet Kaur scoring 46 crucial runs. Kaur was well supported by Veda Krishnamurthy and Smriti Mandhana who together added 55 runs for the second wicket. Jess Jonassen and Megan Schutt picked up two wickets apiece for Australia Women XI.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: India Women XI 125/5  in 17; BATTING: ,Harmanpreet Kaur 41(27), Anuja Patil 4(7): Harmanpreet has been scoring good boundaries , few of them coming at the expense of Beth Mooneywho missed field twice to give India free runs. Rene Farell has finished her quota of overs giving away .

 LIVE CRICKET SCORE: India Women XI 103/5  in 15 ; BATTING: ,Harmanpreet Kaur 20(26), Anuja Patil 1(1): Australia women XI have made a good comeback picking up two successive wickets of dangerous looking Veda Krishnamurthy, Smriti Mandhana and Jhulan Goswami. India from 62/2 have now faltered to 91/4 in a span of 5 overs. It is now up to Harmanpreet Kaur to guide India past through to victory.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: India Women XI 62/2 in 9.1 overs ; BATTING:  Veda Krishnamurthy 25(21), Harmanpreet Kaur: OUT!! Brilliant stumping by Alyssa Healy to get Smriti Mandhana out. Mandhana looked good for her stay of 29 runs. Megan Schutt picks her first wicket of the match, will want to chip in a few more.Veda Krishnamurthy and Mandhana added 55 runs for the second wicket for India. India womens need more 79 runs to win with eight wickets in hand.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: India Women XI 50/1 in 7.1 overs ; BATTING:  Veda Krishnamurthy 25(21), Smriti Mandhana 20(16): Veda Krishamurthy has looked in her aggressive best hitting boundaries all around the park. Krishnamurthy has so far hit 5 boundaries in her innings of 25. Smriti Mandhana has looked more composed hitting 2 fours and a six.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: India Women XI 28/1  in 5 overs ; BATTING:  Veda Krishnamurthy 6(9), Smriti Mandhana 12(9): After the wicket of Mitali Raj India Women XI have looked good as Veda Krishnamurthy and Smriti Mandhana have put up a 21* run stand. Krishnamurthy has looked in devastating form already hitting two 4’s.  

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: India Women XI 7/1  in 1.4 overs ; BATTING:  Veda Krishnamurthy, Smriti Mandhana 1(3):OUT! Indian skipper Mitali Raj goes without scoring much runs. Raj had only contributed 4 runs in the 6 balls she faced. Rene Farrell picks her first wicket in her first over as Raj trying to slice on over point.  

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: India Women XI  4/0  in 1 over; BATTING: Mitali Raj 2(3), Smriti Mandhana 1(3): Mitali Raj and Smriti Mandhana will look to get India off to a great start and build on their partnership. If India chase this target this will their highest ever chase. Ellyse Perry bowled the first over for Australia Women XI giving away only 4 runs.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Australia Women XI  140/5 in 20 over; BATTING:  Alex Blackwell 27(22), Alyysa Healy 41 (15): Alyssa Healy and Alex Blackwell have done a wonderful job for the Australia Women XI  managing 56 runs in the final four overs. Healy turned the whole match around for her team smashing 41 runs in just 15 balls as Indian Women bowling looked tired and out of ideas. India Women XI will need to score 141 runs in 20 overs to win the match. 

 


LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Australia Women XI  128/5 in 19 over; BATTING:  Alex Blackwell 21(19), Alyysa Healy 35(12): Alyssa Healy has been in ominous form in the final few overs. Healy in in just a span of two overs has moved on to 36 hitting four 4’s and two sixes.

 LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Australia Women XI  100/5 in 17 over; BATTING:  Alex Blackwell 12(13), Alyysa Healy 16(6): Alyysa Healy has looked good hitting three boundaries so far in her innings of 16. Ekta Bisht went for 16 runs in the last over, which was also the most expensive over of the innings. With only 3 overs remainging Australia Women XI will look to go big and get around 135-140.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Australia Women XI  84/5 in 15.4 over; BATTING:  Alex Blackwell 0(), Alyysa Healy 0(0): OUT!! Jess Jonassen gets stumped by Poonam Yadav . Yadav has bowled great lines and keeping it clear of any hitting zone. Yadav picks up her second wicket of the innings. Debutant Beth Mooney in the last over got out making  almost run a ball 36 from 35 balls. 

 

 LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Australia Women XI  66/3 in 12.3 over; BATTING: Beth Mooney 29(26), Alex Blackwell 0() OUT!! Ellyse Perry in an attempt to hit Poonam yadav over the top, gets the lower bottom of the bat only giving a catch to fielder starting at point. Perry was looking good wanted to get on with the runs as Indians have managed to slow down the run rate.

 

 LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Australia Women XI  60/2 in 11 over; BATTING: Beth Mooney 29(26), Ellyse Perry 16(22): Indiam Women spinners have got a strong hold over the Australia Women XI. All three spinners Ekta Bisht, Anuja Patil and Poonam Yadav have bowled with much guile and flight. Indian fielding unit has look more sharp and fit not giving away any easy singles.Noth Beth Mooney and Ellyse Perry has now had a 41 run stand.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE: Australia Women XI  43/2 in 8 over; BATTING: Beth Mooney 17(13), Ellyse Perry 7(11): Australia Women XI after losing Lanning and Grace Harris have somehow managed to consolidate the innings. Beth Mooney who is making her debut has struck the ball well. Mooney has looked more at home along with Ellyse Perry in control of her shots. India Women XI opt for a spin attack from both ends.Perry also survived a close call after an attempt for stumping off Bisht.

Earlier Lenning had hit Pandey for a four. Australia Women are looking in bit of trouble. This has been an eventful start for Australia Women XI having lost the wicket of Grace Harris. Lenning had earlier dropped.

TOSS Update: India Women wins the toss and elect to field first

 

When India women played against New Zealand women last year in 3rd T20I, India women won by 3 wickets on Indian conditions. India women’s V Krishnamurthy played an excellent innings being the top-scorer for her side. It was RS Gayakwad who stood out for that match picking 3 wickets. India women have portrayed a strong side while playing against any team and 2015 has been a good year for them with regards performances and skills. But Australia women have equally been strong throughout the year and Lanning was rewarded for her performance through the year by ICC. It will be an interesting clash between the two sides.
