Delhi Daredevils restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to 97 for nine off 12 overs in their rain-marred opening game of IPL 2012 at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.
Morne Morkel ripped apart the Kolkata Knight Riders batting order as Delhi Daredevils gained upperhand in the game.
Morkel claimed three wickets for 18 runs in his three overs while Umesh Yadav bagged two as Kolkata failed to put up a competitive score in their rain-truncated match.
Earlier, rains delayed the start of the second game of the Twenty20 tournament.
Laxmi Ratan Shukla clobbered two sixes and a boundary to reach 26 off 17 balls, which was the highest individual score from KKR.
